Funnel review / Native, their reviews, referral system and up-sell mechanism

Today, we're running an Ecommerce funnel analysis of the brand Native

We'll go over:

  • The homepage, where they highlight in a very clever way the thousands of reviews they have and push their referral system right away,
  • The product page, where they have a smart up-sell mechanism when you're adding a product lower than $30 into your cart,
  • And some more things along the way ;)

Promoting the reviews everywhere

They have several thousands five-stars reviews on their best sellers, and that's becoming the motto on their website, since they're highlighted at each navigation step. A good practice here: the reviews list are linking to the reviews section of their product page, instead of a dedicated page!

A referral system widely used

They use a software called Talkable, which has a free version for Shopify that work the same way. It allows you quickly to have your own referral system on your online shop, that will work pretty much the same way!

FYI - usually, while setting up a referral system, it's always more effective to offer a real reward (samples, free product, etc.) than a monetary reward, especially if it's low. Why? Because we kinda bother disturbing friends for a few $$, while it's easier to do it for free stuff. :)

An up-sell mechanism that work

We add a product that costs less than $30 in our cart? Before even adding it, we're proposed to switch to a bundle with a highlighted discount before seeing our cart. The bundle, of course, includes the product we just added.

Clear, simple, efficient.
